When I went to my fiber stash to determine which roving would be turned into my first “real” spinning project, I selected 4 ounces of BFL that had been around for awhile. The packing slip was dated 3/24/08, which must have been right after I bought my first wheel, the Symphony. The vendor, Artric Fibers, is still on Etsy, but it seems they only sell spun yarn now.
After spinning the fiber onto two bobbins, I thought that I should also use the singles for my first attempt at plying. Fortunately, a friend pointed out that plying would “muddy” the colors. I decided, instead, to knit the singles into an infinity cowl.
Since I had spun the yarn, I figured that I should also “design” the pattern. Here’s my “All Mine” cowl:
Pattern:
Cast On 24 stitches with a Size 9 needle
Row 1: K4 [YO,K2,Sl1K2togPSSO,K2,YO] K2 [repeat pattern in brackets] K4
Row 2: K4, Purl to last 4 stitches, K4
Repeat these two rows to desired length and bind off
Seam cast on edge to bind off edge
Martha, that is lovely.
